Pinup Kitten of the Year 2011
WINNER
The winner of the 2011 Pinup Kitten Of The Year Pageant was the incredible upcoming star, Miss Joellen, followed by 1st runner up, the adorable Bunni Lambada, 2nd runner up, sweet as candy Megan Mayhem, and 3rd runner up, the immaculate beauty Polly Polka-dot. These ladies certainly showed the working class industrial town what pin-up is all about! The audience was enthralled by every move these models made, loving everything they had to offer.
The Kittens’ online poll which ran throughout October, whittled 14 contestants down to a top 5, who went on to compete in the pin-up pageant on the 5th November at the historic Art Deco hotel, The Great Northern, in Newcastle, Australia. The wonderful Pearl Davies Pinup Photography sponsored the event, with beautiful prize packs including a cute hair bow and pinup photo shoot for the top 5 contestants. All entrants from the competition also got their time on the stage, as they hit the catwalk in local retro boutique clothing by MisKonduct Clothing and Miss Lulu Clothing.
The top 5 then went on to dazzle us with their talents, including a feather fan burlesque act by established starlet, Bunni Lambada; Emerging stunner, Miss Joellen, performed a breathtaking first time stage act involving beautiful glistening costume pieces and feather fans, leaving the audience gob smacked! Megan Mayhem, with literally cherries on top, in the form of a large sparkly, handcrafted headpiece, performed an adorable, yet messy pinup act involving cherries and whipped cream; and the pinup perfect Polly Polka-dot sat down for a spot of comic sewing in her highly entertaining pinup performance.
Final top 5 contestant, the cute as pie Hilary Hoover was left without a piano to perform her musical talents on, which unfortunately lost her crucial points in the competition, but didn’t stop her from being magnificent in the other facets of the pageant.
